Having delivered street6’s in 2016 you raised enough funding to pilot our street cricket in Redditch. This has since seen us make a successful bid to appoint a full time member of staff who has now set up 3 hubs in Redditch and Dudley, supporting kids for 40 weeks of the year. These hubs are regularly supporting over 100 young children every week, whereby they enjoy free cricket sessions and have been learning about other important skills such as teamwork, communication and awareness of drug abuse and domestic violence. These are all young people who thanks to your help are now engaging and learning off each other and feel a part of something. So on behalf of my team and more importantly the kids involved, thank you for what you did last year, you are really helping us make a difference to young people across the county.
Looking at this year, as a supporter of last year’s event we wanted to make you aware of 2017’s plans to see if you would like to express an interest in entering a team this season. Worcestershire Ambassadors have kindly agreed to be the main sponsors of this year’s competition, having entered a team last year and we are extremely appreciative of their support.
Many of you may not be aware of how Moeen started his cricket journey. Moeen started playing cricket with his friends on the streets of Birmingham where his passion, ambition and talent for the game as well as his desire has enabled him to become an international icon. Inspiring many young people who want to follow in his footsteps in playing cricket for their country. We know for every Moeen there are hundreds if not thousands of young people who unfortunately will never represent their country at the highest level. These are the youngsters who may have different dreams and aspirations, of moving from challenging areas to becoming professional accountants, architects or pursuing other careers.

4th July will be the launch event at New Road where your team can come down, learn the rules and take some tips.
10th July is the big event, you’re team will need to be at Angel Place by 2.30pm
The after party will be at Browns at the Quay starting from 6.00pm with drinks and nibbles available.
20th July is the final event at New Road followed by post event celebrations.
Matches will last 35 minutes and everyone will bat and bowl.
The ball will be softballs and all equipment will be provided.
